Many people focus on exfoliating their faces and overlook other body parts. You should exfoliate regularly to keep your skin radiant and healthy.

By eliminating the outermost layer of dead cells, your skin will appear less wrinkled and smoother.

Whether it is hot or you just need to achieve a cleaner and soft skin, exfoliating your entire body will keep you glowing. Therefore, the following tips will help you learn how to exfoliate your skin.

Items you will require:
– Exfoliating gloves, loofah or body brush
– Exfoliating cleanser
– Body lotion
– Bath towels

Steps

Before you take a shower, brush off the dry skin using a loofah or body brush. This aids in removing the sagging skin and keeps your skin prepared for the exfoliation process. You can begin with your feet’s soles as you continue with the rest of the body.

Jump into the shower and soak your entire body with water. It is not advisable to exfoliate if you have open wounds, cuts or sunburns. This may cause the skin to break even more.

Eliminate calluses and rough spots on the feet by using a pumice stone. However, if you have very rough feet, soak them for a while in warm water, add a glass of milk in the water and wait for about 30 minutes before taking a bath.

Apply your cleanser to your gloves or loofah. You can then begin to scrub the body in a spherical motion from your feet going upwards. Upon reaching the bikini area, scrub very gently since the skin around is too sensitive. Deep scrubbing may damage the skin.

You should go for grainy kinds of cleansers for cleaning your skin instead of using soap. Opt for exfoliating cleansers containing ingredients like ground almonds, oatmeal or a sea salt.Their grainy texture is effective for exfoliation.

To exfoliate your back or other unreachable areas in the body, you can use a soft body brush. On the other hand, you can use a face towel to keep the process mild.

Be as mild as possible when exfoliating the face, especially the areas near the mouth and eyes. Use a product specially designed for exfoliating the face for better results. Ensure the product is very mild as compared to products meant for other parts of the body.

Do not forget your hands. They should also look smooth and feel soft.

Rinse off with warm water, then cold water that you can take. To soften the skin, you can apply a good shower gel if you wish.

When you get out of the bathroom, apply body lotion on your whole body and a facial moisturizer on your face. Facial moisturizers and body lotions contain beta hydroxyl acids and alpha which are very important since they help remove and abrade dead cells on the skin.

It is recommended to use a moisturizer once daily. Exfoliation has drying effects on the skin and can cause more problems. It is healthy to keep your skin hydrated all day long by drinking a lot of water or you can re-hydrate liberally by using lotions.
